Tim Thomas is playing like a league MVP right now.  This was unexpected, after the former Vezina trophy winner spent most of last season watching from the bench last year as Tuukka Rask took the NHL by storm in his rookie season almost winning the MVP and Vezina himself.  Last year, Thomas nursed injuries and played well below his usual norm when he did see ice time.  He was often pulled and Rask’s performance was world-class.  But, this season is different and Thomas is the current favorite to easily scoop up his 2nd Vezina Trophy (for the top goaltender in the NHL).  However, this game is about the ultimate goal – The Stanley Cup – rather than Vezina trophy.  The right thing to do right now for the Boston Bruins is to trade Tim Thomas.

I recently saw an ad for the movie “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” and immediately the word GRINCH made me picture Glenn Healy in my mind.  Listening to Glenn Healy bothers me.  I am not the only one…others I know have complained about his tone and attitude behind the mic.  Then recently, I heard Glenn Healy insulting Mike Milbury (6:00 minute mark in the video), one of my favorite commentators during the HotStove on Hockey Night in Canada and it was time to draw the line and express my opinions about Healy.  In my opinion, Glenn Healy was a bad goalie, and he is a terrible commentator.

Mark my words, this is the dream season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Some may say that they are in a weak division…others may say they haven’t played any real competition. Most experts even claim that the Kansas City Chiefs are just a “cinderella team” and that the San Diego Chargers will still win the AFC West.  Now, with Matt Cassel (likely) out for the big game against the Chargers this Sunday due to appendicitis, the betting line is bound to jump several points when Brodie Croyle leads the team into Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.  Are the bookies justified, or are they also underestimating the Chiefs?
